I wrote half of these while teaching. The others I wrote recently for my Short Short Writing Challenges on Facebook.
There was a young man with a jeep
Who drove 'cross a river quite deep
He was swept off his course
By the river's strong force
And he now sails the oceans by jeep
There once was a bear in the hills
Who suffered psychological ills
To aid hibernation
He tried meditation
But in the end took sleeping pills
There once was an otter named Faye
Who enjoyed playing chess all day
As she pondered a move
The zoo keeper reproved
"We didn't hire you for THIS sort of play!"
There once was a camel, three-humped
Who came down with a case of the mumps
When the doctor arrived
He said with a sigh,
"That beast didn't need some more lumps."
