I always wondered
how paper could beat rock
A balance to the game

But rock
in my mind
seemed to beat everything

It dismantled scissors
and put a hole through the paper
Rock couldn't be destroyed or contained.

Until the modern age

Last week,
Our office had a power outage
And turned my PC into a giant paperweight
A boulder

But work must go on
So I retrieved dusty paper and pen
And continued

Paper does beat rock
The game inventors
were ahead of their time
