I woke to a beautiful world
lying in your arms
warm
loved
I didn't want to leave our bed
But I had to go to work
I kissed your head
and slipped out of our blanket cocoon
to start my day

You continued to sleep

But I heard your laughter as the kettle whistled
I felt your warmth as I ate breakfast
I saw your face in the mirror as I brushed my teeth
I heard your voice sing along with the radio
I felt your kisses in the shower
your arms around me as I dressed

And I felt you share my joy
as I watched the rain fall
on my way
to work
