The rushes rustled
A leaf fell
A bird flew across the sky
A gurgle came from a mossy well

A bunny hopped in the meadow
A chipmunk scurried up a tree
A deer grazed in the grass beyond
In a flower, a tiny bee

A dandelion roared
A cloud darkened
Then 1.. 2.. 3..
All clouds blackened

A drop fell
A tulip kissed the rain
The dandelion
Shook its glossy mane

"Pitter Patter" the rain called
In a voice so still
A leaf vase
It would surely fill

Lightning threw a spear of fire
Thunder bellowed, birds took flight
The animals hurried away
All in fright

It rained for hours
Till it finally ceased
Then animals came from nest, tree, and hole
The number of creatures slowly increased

Out came a rainbow
Filled with colors from "head to toe"
The sun shone bright
The leaves hung low

The animals crept home
The wind sang a lullaby
A rustle was heard
Sleep soft,
Sleep well,
Goodbye.
