We follow the roads of life
Traveling in different cars
They are all unique
We honk individualized horns
In greeting, as our paths cross

Sometimes,
We are blessed with light traffic
And we speed along together
But roads aren't free forever
We can't avoid all traffic jams
At each other, we honk angrily

But later,
When traveling the same traffic circle
We beep greetings once again
We forget jams of the past
And are there for each other
During hail storms or rain

Don't fear,
When you lose your way
I will be there with a spare map
I'll be there during auto-repair
And help you carry loads
That are too heavy or large

I know,
I must prepare my windshield wiper
For the future when our paths must part
And we travel different traffic circles
On our way to different destinations
Where we'll drive on roads where others cross

I ask,
Must all friends grow apart?
It seems the inevitable destiny
But up to the final dead end street
I will never forget you
You are written in the travel log of my heart

Because,
No matter the distance of our travels
I'll never haggle with the price of your friendship
I doubt anyone will ever see my interior
But if it is ever viewed
There will be no doubt

That you were
one of my favorite
travel companions,
dear friend
