Today
Will be
Partly cloudy
With a 20% chance of water music
A gentle preamble
Of seemingly random droplets
A prelude
Expertly orchestrated
By the cloud conductor
The random drops connect
To form a steady rhythm
A melody flows from the percussion group
The splatter of the leaf players
The tap of the pavement
The whisper of the grass section
The trickle of the windows
The rush of the gutters
The drip of the roof
The splash of the puddles
Combine
In a buoyant wave
That lifts the audience
And carries them through
The aisles of the amphitheatre
A pause from the rushing
A sweet umbrella solo
A pitter patter
Which surrounds the spectators
Holds them on the wave's crest
She finishes
And they ride again
On the full orchestra
They climb toward the ceiling
The music flows
It roars
It explodes
With thunder
The wave crashes down
Returning the spectators to their seats
Refreshed
Applause
