It's after the ball
She sheds her saucy party dress
Tosses it to the wind

Stands naked and lovely
Waiting for a gentle bath
To soothe her tired limbs
Weary from dancing

Cleansed
She dons a robe of fluffy white
And drifts into a peaceful sleep

Where she dreams of twirling
In pink chiffon
At next season's gala

a single fall leaf on a branch
