Leaping, forming figure eights
Leaving a boundless impression
A pair of work boots passes over them
Striding straight, steady, unhurried
Cigarette butt pause
With a view of the lake
Then long paces continue
Crossing
Sneakers and sandals
Strolling together
Toes tipping toward each other
At intervals
Until sandal toes face sneakers
Gentle shuffling
Then strolling closely
In a new direction
Rejoining
The deer hooves’ dancing
My own steps weaving
