Since mid-October, I have been checking the Fall Foliage Report for Lost Maples Park. At first, the colors were delayed by warm temperatures. Then the maples began seeding, instead displaying colors. Then the weather turned colder. Then it became warm… more »
While Ronak and I were walking last night, we heard something that we thought might be armadillos. We kept our eyes peeled, but weren't seeing anything. We decided the noises we were hearing were probably some kind of insect. Still, we hoped. Then, on… more »
I've been a big fan of barbecue sauce ever since I was small. I find it perfect for bastes, dips, and licking off plates. Exceedingly better on french fries than ketchup, and an improvement over thousand island dressing for carrot sticks. I can dip… more »
Austin isn't called "the allergy capital of the world" for nothing. I was told when I moved here, "If you don't already have allergies now, you'll develop them within a year or two. But don't worry. We're the capital of allergy specialists too." J… more »

In 2007, we moved to Austin, and this blog chronicled our adaptation to Texas life: festivals, wildflowers, and bats - oh my! Then we had a baby, and that changed everything, so now, we blog about where to buy organic food, what parks are fun for babies, which exterminator is taking care of our scorpion problem. (You know, the usual parental concerns.)
